The Executive Committee of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) Branch, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Medical Director, Prof. (Mrs) Idia Nibokun Ize-Iyamu on Monday 6th January, 2026.
Led by the President, Dr. Osaghae Osahon Joseph, the team pledged their respect, loyalty, and commitment to working harmoniously with hospital management in the interest of staff welfare and optimal patient care. The President formally christened the new leadership as the “Harmony EXCO,” symbolizing unity, harmony, and purposeful collaboration.
A major highlight of the visit was the presentation of a Happy New Year card and a commemorative plaque to the CMD, presented respectively by the President, Dr Osaghae Osahon and the Immediate Past President, Dr Osaretin Asemota in appreciation of her leadership and support for resident doctors.
In her response, Prof. Ize-Iyamu thanked the EXCO for the thoughtful gesture and the visit. She congratulated them on their election and urged them to maintain cordial relationshipwith management, show mutual respect among colleagues, and uphold excellence in patient care. The CMD wished the EXCO a peaceful and successful tenure in office.
