The 1st International Training of Trainers in Geriatrics which started on Monday 9th March has finally come to an end today Friday 13th March, 2020.
The international training programme aimed at equipping and updating various multi-disciplinary health professionals with the relevant knowledge and skills in providing quality care for older persons. The programme was attended by health professionals from different parts of the country as well as from the United States of America. Some retired staff of the Hospital were also in attendance.
The participants thanked Hospital Management for putting up such an impactful event, and they offered incisive feedbacks.
The Chief Medical Director, Professor Darlington Obaseki, who was the chief host thanked all participants for gracing the event. He also highlighted some reasons for organising such a programme. He stated that quality care for older persons is a priority for the Government and the Hospital. Professor Obaseki also appreciated the Hon. Minister of Health for graciously attending the opening ceremony and launching the Elder Friendly Hospital Initiative (ELDFRHI).
Professor Obaseki also used the opportunity to thank the sponsors of the programme, especially the Centre for Excellence in Reproductive Health Initiative (CERHI) for its unparalleled support of the programme. CERHI have also pledged support for the advancement of ELDFRHI.
