The Ogbakha-Edo Association recently paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Medical Director of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Prof. (Mrs.) Idia N. Ize-Iyamu, to congratulate her on her appointment as CMD and to reaffirm their support for her administration.
Speaking during the visit, the President of the Association Prof. Sam Guobadia commended Prof. Ize-Iyamu on her appointment, describing her impeccable qualifications and character as well-suited for the role. He also extended appreciation to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for recognizing merit in leadership.
In her response, the Chief Medical Director expressed gratitude to the Association for their solidarity and goodwill. She noted that UBTH’s facilities, built over 52 years ago, require significant upgrades to meet the realities of today’s population and healthcare demands.
She appealed to the Association, comprising prominent sons of Edo State, to leverage their influence and networks to support the hospital.
