Did you know that globally, about 50 million people are diagnosed with epilepsy each year?

Despite its prevalence, epilepsy remains heavily stigmatized.
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder characterized by recurrent seizures, affecting people of all ages. Contrary to common misconceptions, epilepsy is not contagious, and individuals living with epilepsy can lead fulfilling lives with proper management and support.
On this 2024 World Purple Day, March 26th, we invite you to join the University of Benin Teaching Hospital as we raise awareness about epilepsy and debunk myths surrounding the condition.
Let us work together to foster understanding, support those affected by epilepsy, and promote a more inclusive society.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of individuals living with epilepsy.
