Dr. Abimbola Opadeyi is a Consultant Physician and Clinical Pharmacologist. A Fellow of both the West African College of Physicians and the National Post Graduate Medical College of Nigeria.
Her research interests are mainly in the areas of pharmacovigilance, pharmacoepidemiology, clinical toxicology, rational use of medicines, and hypertension. She has over 20 scientific publications and presentations and has conducted research in hypertension medicines management, evaluating pharmacovigilance systems and interventions to increase adverse drug reaction reporting among healthcare professionals in Nigeria.
She was a member of the Drafting Committee of the Nigerian Hypertension Society 2020 Hypertension guidelines, a former treasurer of the Nigerian Hypertension Society, and the assistant general secretary of the Nigerian Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
An Associate Professor at the University of Benin, she teaches clinical students Pharmacology and Pharmacovigilance, as well as bedside teaching in Internal Medicine. She also serves as an external examiner to the West African College of Physicians in the Faculty of Internal Medicine and to different Universities in Nigeria.
