Dr. Folashade Akpata is a dedicated Senior Registrar within the Department of Medicine at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital. With more than a decade of invaluable clinical experience, she is passionately committed to providing holistic healthcare.
Dr. Akpata earned her degree as a medical doctor from Igbinedion University in
2010, and completed her internship in 2012 at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, where she is presently pursuing her fellowship in Geriatric Medicine.
She holds the esteemed title of Associate Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, is a member of the West African College of Physicians, and is affiliated with both the British Geriatric and American Geriatric Societies.
Beyond her medical vocation, Dr. Akpata generously contributes her time to volunteer work, delivering health talks that inspire healthy ageing within local communities. She also serves as a mentor to aspiring young professionals while cherishing quality moments spent with her family. Her unwavering belief in the significance of empathy and compassion is evident in her teaching and healthcare practices.
