Dr. OLUWATOYIN OHENHEN is an astute Physician who obtained her first degree at the University of Benin, after which she went further to obtain her postgraduate fellowship in Internal Medicine, (ENDOCRINOLOGY, DIABETES AND METABOLISM SUB-SPECIALTY) from the West African College of Physicians and National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in 2012. She also obtained a Masters in Public Health (Reproductive and Family Health, from the University of Benin as well as certificates for Leadership and Management in Health (LMIH) and Project Management in Health (PMIH) both from the University of Washington. She works presently as a Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital. She is also an adjunct Lecturer with at the college of Medical Science, Igbinedion University, Okada.
Dr. Oluwatoyin Ohenhen has been involved in several Diabetes Training Programmes, some of which include the BUDDY DOCTOR INITIATIVE and Base of Pyramid projects both of which involves training and mentoring of doctors on various aspects of Diabetes treatment, especially use of insulins.
Her research interest is in the area of diabetes complications and endocrine disorders with academic publications in peer reviewed journals. She is a member of many professional organizations some of which include the Endocrine and Metabolism Society of Nigeria, Diabetes Association of Nigeria, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist, Association of clinical endocrinologist of Nigeria and Nigerian Medical Association.
