The Ophthalmological Society of Nigeria at their 46th AGM dinner and award night honoured the Chief Medical Director, University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Prof. D.E. Obaseki with an award for his “Contribution to the development of Ophthalmology and to reducing vision impairment and blindness in Nigeria“.

The event which took place at the Best Western Homeville hotel Benin city had in attendance the crème de la crème of the Ophthalmology specialty in Nigeria.

This is yet another feather to the CMD’s cap. We say congratulations to a CMD like no other!!

The University of Benin Teaching Hospital was taken over by the Federal Government on April 1st, 1975 as the fifth teaching hospital coming after Ibadan Teaching Hospital and Lagos Teaching Hospital.
