Dear elders and colleagues.
This year’s celebration of the United Nations International Day of Older Persons (UNIDOP) on October 1st is unique in many ways:
- Nigeria turns 60 on October 1st – the cut off age for “older person” set by the UN.
- The Year 2020 marks the 30th anniversary of UNIDOP.
- 2020 is also the 75th anniversary of the UN.
- On March 9, 2020, the Elder Friendly Hospitals Initiative (ELDFRHI) was launched in UBTH by the Honorable Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie E. Ehanire.
We are seeking to raise a critical mass of Elder Friendly Champions across all sectors, beginning in our hospitals.
Please join us!
