Join the Fight Against Antimicrobial Resistance!

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) poses a critical threat to our health, affecting humans, animals, plants, and the environment. At the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, we are committed to combating this global challenge. Whenever we rely on antimicrobials to tackle infections in humans, animals, or plants, we give germs the opportunity to evolve and become resistant to these treatments, reducing their effectiveness in the long run. It’s time to act and preserve the power of these medicines!
👥 This year’s World Antimicrobial Awareness Week 2023 carries the theme “Preventing antimicrobial resistance together”. We recognize the importance of collaboration across sectors to safeguard the effectiveness of antimicrobials.
💊 To tackle AMR effectively, it is crucial for all sectors to use antimicrobials wisely, adopt preventive measures to reduce infections, and responsibly dispose of antimicrobial-contaminated waste.
🔬 Let’s work together to preserve these vital medications and protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities. This year, UBTH urges everyone to prioritize safety and join hands in the battle against AMR.
Let’s join hands to stop #AntimicrobialResistance (AMR)!
