LASSA FEVER UPDATE

  1. In Epidemiological week 7, 2022 (14 – 20 February, 2022); 21 states have recorded at least one confirmed case across 74 local government areas.
  2. Of all confirmed cases, 73% are from Ondo (32%), Edo (23%) and Bauchi (18%).
  3. Two (2) Healthcare workers have been affected from Ondo and Bauchi in reporting week 7 [Note that there were seven (7) new Healthcare workers affected from Bauchi, Ondo and Edo States in reporting week 6]
  4. The weekly epidemiological report of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control CDC showed an increase in the number of confirmed cases of Lassa fever with four (4) healthcare workers (one from Benue State and three from Edo State) as at week 2, 2022.
