Mrs. Eunice Ugorji is a highly qualified nurse with specialized expertise in Geriatrics Nursing and Elder Care. She earned her Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc) degree from the National Open University in 2015 and obtained a Diploma in Nursing Administration and Management from the University of Benin in 2001. Additionally, she holds the distinction of being a registered Nurse (RN), having completed her training at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital in Benin City in 1991. Her proficiency extends to Midwifery, with her certification earned at St. Philomena’s Maternity Hospital. Furthermore, she completed intensive training in Geriatric Nursing in 2014.
From 2017 to February 2023, Mrs. Ugorji served as the Ward Manager of the Geriatrics Ward at UBTH, consistently demonstrating exemplary professionalism and dedication to patient care. Her commitment to going above and beyond the call of duty has fostered a pleasant working environment. Her passion and unwavering commitment have made her an indispensable member of the
University of Benin Teaching Hospital’s multi-disciplinary Geriatrics Family, where she has devoted the past decade to caring for older individuals.
Currently, she holds the position of Unit Head in the Medical unit B within the
Nursing Services Department of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital in Benin City. She has also been a valuable facilitator in healthcare training, particularly in the field of Geriatrics.
Mrs. Ugorji’s outstanding contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including the titles of “Second Best Practical Nurse” in 1991, “Best Geriatrics Nurse” in 2020, and “Best Staff of the Month” for July 2021, all within the University of Benin Teaching Hospital in Benin City.
