Pastor Ademola Ige, Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and a former patient of the Renal Unit, University of Benin Teaching Hospital, marked his 60th birthday today, 5th December 2025, with an act of gratitude and generosity at UBTH.
Pastor Ige, who was successfully managed at the Renal Unit in 2021, returned to the hospital to give back in appreciation of the quality care he received during his stay. In his remarks, he spoke warmly about the level of attention and professionalism he experienced, expressing gratitude not only for his recovery but also for the donor whose contribution supported his treatment. Today, he and his wife, who also served as his donor, are healthy and doing well.
In her response, the Chief Medical Director, UBTH, Prof. Idia N. Ize-Iyamu thanked Pastor Ige for his kind gesture and highlighted the importance of giving back to systems that have made an impact.
She celebrated him on his milestone 60th birthday and prayed that he continues to enjoy long life, good health, and prosperity in all his endeavours.
The donation, a patient monitor and its accompanying kits, was presented to the Renal Unit to support continuous improvement in patient care.
This gesture reinforces the commitment of UBTH Management to fostering a healthcare system where quality care, compassion, and patient well-being remain at the heart of everything we do.
Acts of gratitude like Pastor Ige’s inspire the hospital to continue delivering excellence, strengthening the bond between the institution and the community it serves.
