Pharm. (Dr.) Mrs. Edith Osaretin Yovwin

Dr. Mrs. Edith Osaretin Yovwin, a distinguished pharmacist, boasts a wealth of qualifications and a remarkable career. She obtained her B.Pharm in 1990, followed by her Pharm.D in 2007. In 2015, she achieved FWCP status and continued her academic journey with an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy in 2016. Notably, she earned her LMIH Cert in 2020.

Dr. Mrs. Yovwin commenced her journey at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital with internship training in 1990/91, followed by industrial pharmacy experience at Pfizer Lagos from 1992 to 1993. She later contributed to the community setting between 1996 and 1999.

Returning to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital in 1999, she began as a Grade 1 Pharmacist and steadily rose through the ranks to her current role as Director of Pharmaceutical Services and Head of Department.

Her expertise lies in Pharmacy Inventories and Operations, specialized Clinical Service in Endocrinology, as well as mentoring, team building, and supervision.

In addition to her impressive career, Dr. Mrs. Yovwin has two publications to her name, addressing crucial topics in healthcare. Her contributions to the field continue to make a significant impact.

The University of Benin Teaching Hospital was taken over by the Federal Government on April 1st, 1975 as the fifth teaching hospital coming after Ibadan Teaching Hospital and Lagos Teaching Hospital.
