The Management of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, in tandem with her commitment and efforts to institutionalize the ethos of quality healthcare in the Hospital, in June 2019 invited PharmAccess Foundation to partner with her.
A baseline assessment was conducted by PharmAccess-SafeCare in September 2019. The report of the assessment was presented to the leaders of the Hospital on Thursday the 7th of November 2019. UBTH was scored a Level 3 (against the maximum possible score level 5).
This achievement, coming after 2 years of painstaking work by the Management and staffs of the Hospital, should provide further impetus for all to do more.
Current gaps in services and infrastructure were clearly spelt out in the very detailed report. Measures to address them are also well detailed in the accompanying Quality Improvement Plan (QIP). The goal is to transit to SafeCare Level 4 within the next one year
