PHARMACIST (MRS.) OSAREMEN OKORO

Pharmacist (Mrs.) Osaremen Okoro is a Principal Pharmacist in the Department of Pharmacy, University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH). She joined the highly skilled workforce of UBTH on March 1, 2018. Since then, she has contributed significantly to the medical care services offered by UBTH, work in partnership with other professionals to offer pharmaceutical care to patients and training 100s of newly graduated pharmacists, students and support staff in the Hospital. Her diligent and exceptional efforts earned her a spot on the Geriatrics team in June 2022.

Pharmacist Okoro holds a B. Pharm from the prestigious Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. She became a member of the Pharmacist Council of Nigeria in November 2015. She performed her mandatory internship at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba. While she was there, she was further trained in a number of sub-fields, including psychiatric and paediatrics pharmaceutical care. Her acquired skills and experiential knowledge were recognized during her national youth service year, when she worked as a registered pharmacist with Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) medical Centre, in Warri, Delta State. Since then, she has built a reputation as an exceptional pharmacist, trainer, and
administrator.

Among other qualities, Pharmacist Osaremen is a diligent and hard-working member of the health care team in UBTH, with a passion for contributing to improving the general well-being and quality of life of all patients, especially in the area of geriatrics. She is a team player and performs exceedingly well when challenged by role play.

The University of Benin Teaching Hospital was taken over by the Federal Government on April 1st, 1975 as the fifth teaching hospital coming after Ibadan Teaching Hospital and Lagos Teaching Hospital.
