Staff of the Month – March 2025

Engr. Taofiq Timothy Belo-Osagie, from the ICT Unit, has proven to be an invaluable member of UBTH since joining in 2021. He has consistently demonstrated exceptional technical skills and a strong commitment to excellence in every task he undertakes.

Currently serving as the Head of the A&E ICT Unit, Engr. Taofiq has played a pivotal role in the digital transformation of services at the new Accident and Emergency complex, notably through the implementation of the UBTH Rapid MEDCHART—a web-based Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system operational in all clinics in the hospital. This innovation at the A&E has redefined patient care by streamlining the entire process, from patient registration and triage to nursing care, doctor’s assessments, treatment plans, laboratory tests, prescriptions, and eventual discharge.

Under his leadership, the computerization policy of UBTH’s Management has yielded numerous benefits within the A&E, including:
i. Enhanced operational efficiency
ii. Real-time data access, promoting seamless communication between medical records officers, paramedics, nurses, and doctors
iii. Improved patient safety and ensuring accurate treatment tracking
iv. Optimized bed management and better resource utilization within the hospital

Engr. Taofiq Belo-Osagie’s unwavering dedication, strong work ethic, and outstanding contributions have significantly advanced the role of ICT in patient care in UBTH.

Congratulations, Engr. Taofiq, and may you continue to achieve even greater success.
