A telemedicine expert, Dr. Phillip Osehobo who is a member of the Association of Nigerian Physicians in America (ANPA) was in UBTH recently on a courtesy visit on behalf of the President and Exco of the Association.
Dr. Osehobo said that ANPA and Edo State Government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the need for the introduction and commencement of telemedicine in Edo state. He also stated that this initiative is focused on Primary Health Care (PHC) knowing that it will help bridge the gaps noticeable presently.
The CMD, Prof. Obaseki on his part lauded the initiative and assured ANPA of UBTH’s readiness and willingness for this and other forms of collaborations, so long it is to advance medical care in the state. He commended ANPA on the last medical mission stating that the gains were beyond measure.
Dr. Phillip was led to UBTH on this visit by the Hon. Commissioner of Health, Edo State, Prof. Obehi Akoria.
