Training On Infection Prevention & Control For Newly Employed Interns In UBTH: Day 2

The training on Infection Prevention and Control continued today at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital for the newly employed nursing, pharmacy, medical laboratory, physiotherapy, radiology, optometry, dietetics, and occupational therapy interns
The DCMAC clinical services, Prof O. A Akoria who gave the opening remarks on behalf of Management admonished the interns to give their best in their work while ensuring a safe workplace environment.
In total, 195 interns were trained. Facilitators included Dr Esohe Olivia Ogboghodo (Chairman, Infection Control Committee), Dr Otaniyenuwa Eloghosa Obarisiagbon (Consultant, Public Health Physician), Dr Igunma (Consultant, Clinical Microbiologist), ADNS Uwugiaren (Nursing services), Mrs Irabor (Infection Control Nurse, Department of Community Health), Mr Chris Isueken (Snr. Environmental Health Officer), Mr Ibadin (Medical Laboratory Scientist), Dr Orezimena Omo-Ikirodah (Department of Community Health), and Dr Funmilola Adio (Department of Community Health).
E-Certificate of participation will be awarded to all interns.

It is very encouraging to know that there is some continuous professional development going on in UBTH which is very different from when i trained and worked there as a nurse many years ago.
I think the training should now expand to include all other aspects of patient care
