In a bid to give back to the society, the Ophthalmology Department of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital organised a 13-days annual Subsidized Cataract Surgery Outreach for the general public.
The Outreach is aimed at providing the opportunity for eligible individuals to receive subsidized Cataract Surgery which will significantly improve their vision and quality of life.
The Cataract Surgery is a procedure performed to remove the cloudy lens of the eye and replace it with an artificial lens. This surgery is crucial in restoring vision for patients suffering from cataracts, which can cause blurred vision and difficulty in seeing.
By offering subsidized cataract surgery, the University of Benin Teaching Hospital Management is making an invaluable contribution towards improving the eye health of the Public.
