In celebration of the 2026 Children’s Day, the management of University of Benin Teaching Hospital, led by the Chief Medical Director, Professor Idia Nibokun Ize-Iyamu, joined children across the nation in marking the special occasion with warmth, laughter, and kindness.
The Chief Medical Director, alongside members of the hospital management team, visited various hospital wards today, Tuesday, May 27th, 2026, where children receiving care were presented with gifts and other beautiful items to brighten their day and put smiles on their faces.
This year’s Children’s Day celebration is themed, “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child,” a theme that highlights the importance of creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive society where every child is seen, valued, and given the opportunity to thrive.
The celebration also aligns with the UBTH CARES initiative, reflecting the hospital’s continued commitment to compassion, patient-centered care, emotional support, and overall wellbeing for patients and their families.
Through thoughtful moments like this, UBTH continues to reaffirm that healthcare goes beyond treatment alone, extending also to kindness, hope, and human connection.
