UBTH Conducts Medical Outreach for ITV Staff as part of corporate social responsibility initiative.
In furtherance of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment to promoting preventive healthcare and community wellbeing, the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), in collaboration with Independent Television (ITV), today, Monday, 3rd August 2026, conducted a medical outreach for members of staff of the media organisation in anticipation of ITV’s forthcoming 30th anniversary.
Representing the Chief Medical Director, Professor Idia Nibokun Ize-Iyamu, Dr. Philip Osho reaffirmed UBTH’s dedication to improving health outcomes through strategic partnerships and community-focused interventions. He noted that the outreach underscores the hospital’s belief that quality healthcare should extend beyond the confines of the hospital, bringing essential health services closer to the people while encouraging preventive healthcare practices and early disease detection.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of ITV, Engr. Elvis Obaseki, expressed appreciation to the Chief Medical Director, Professor Idia Nibokun Ize-Iyamu, and the UBTH management for the thoughtful collaboration. He commended the hospital’s medical team for their professionalism and commitment to delivering quality healthcare services, describing the outreach as a timely intervention that reflects the strong partnership between both institutions and UBTH’s dedication to community service.

The outreach featured medical consultations, blood pressure and blood glucose checks, health education, and other basic health assessments aimed at promoting healthy living among members of staff.
