UBTH Healthcare Professionals Training with Rapid Medics Software Team: Advancing Healthcare Technology

In pursuit of excellence and continuous improvement, the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) recently hosted a pivotal training session for its core management staff. The focus was on integrating cutting-edge technology into healthcare practices.
The esteemed Rapid Medics Software Team was welcomed on Monday, 18th December 2023, for an insightful session aimed at updating and keeping the management team abreast of the latest updates and features of the Rapid Medics Software, as well as emerging technologies in the world, ensuring that staff members are well-informed about any changes in the software that may impact their daily processes.
The training also aimed to reinforce management’s commitment to computerization by re-emphasizing UBTH’s dedication to computerizing all aspects of hospital operations.
It highlighted the role of technological advancements in enhancing efficiency and patient care and addressed any queries or concerns to optimize software utilization for enhanced hospital processes.
Led by the Chief Software Architect, Rapid Medics Software Ltd, Dr. Sunny G. Eyaru and the resident project manager, Mr. James Iduoze, the rapid medics team delivered a comprehensive presentation and practical demonstrations on the use of the software being deployed in the hospital.
The training covered various software modules, including but not limited to Electronic Document Management system, Electronic Healthcare Record, Laboratory Information System, Hospital billing and accounting system, informatics and Telemedicine in Healthcare.
At the close of the training, the Chief Medical Director, Prof. D. E. Obaseki extended his appreciation to the Rapid Medics Software Team for their invaluable contribution to UBTH’s technological advancement.
He emphasized the significance of the training in positioning UBTH at the forefront of healthcare innovation, Making it a center of excellence for informatics, Telemedicine and Artificial Intelligence.
The training had in attendance the presence of the Chief Medical Director, the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee, the Director of Administration, Deputy Chairman Medical Advisory Committees – Clinicals, Training and Monitoring, Heads of Departments, and key representatives of departments in the hospital.

The University of Benin Teaching Hospital was taken over by the Federal Government on April 1st, 1975 as the fifth teaching hospital coming after Ibadan Teaching Hospital and Lagos Teaching Hospital.
