On 26th February, 2026, in Abuja, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu, met with the MD/CEO of the Rural Electrification Agency, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, to advance solar power support for the Hospital as part of efforts to strengthen and stabilize its electricity supply.
The approved renewable energy intervention will complement existing supply and enhance uninterrupted power across the Hospital. Implementation begins later this year.
