Waste Management Re-training for UBTH Staff

The Management of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital as part of its commitment to ensuring standard waste management practices conducted a one-day waste management re-training workshop through the Infection Prevention and Control Committee.

The workshop which held on Wednesday, 18th January, 2023 at the New TETFUND Lecture Theatre was conducted in order to re-train staff who are involved in waste management, as well as in the supply and disbursement of waste management commodities.

In attendance at the event were the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Darlington Obaseki; the DCMAC Research & Ethics, Dr. Esohe Ogboghodo, the Head, Nursing Services, DDNS Doris Asamah; the Chairman MDCAN UBTH, Prof. Paul Adobamen; head of Department of Pharmacy, President of the ARD UBTH, Dr. David Orhewere, Unit heads, Ward managers; head bulk stores, head of main stores as well as managers of the various sub-stores; environmental health workers and heads of domestic staff.

The University of Benin Teaching Hospital was taken over by the Federal Government on April 1st, 1975 as the fifth teaching hospital coming after Ibadan Teaching Hospital and Lagos Teaching Hospital.
