WORLD DAY AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS | July 30, 2026
Theme: “Trapped Behind the Scam”
Human trafficking is a grave violation of human rights that affects millions of people worldwide. Today, traffickers increasingly use fake job offers, fraudulent online recruitment, and scam operations to lure unsuspecting victims into forced labour, sexual exploitation, and other forms of abuse.
On this World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, the University of Benin Teaching Hospital joins the global community in raising awareness and reaffirming our commitment to protecting the dignity, health, and rights of every individual.
Be alert. Be informed. Be cautious of offers that seem too good to be true. If you suspect human trafficking or know someone at risk, report it to the appropriate authorities. Your action could save a life.
Together, we can help prevent exploitation, support survivors, and build a safer society where every person can live with freedom, dignity, and hope.
