World Diabetes Day 2025 at UBTH

Theme: Diabetes and the Workplace

Today, 14th November 2025, the Endocrine Unit, UBTH joins the global community to mark #WorldDiabetesDay 2025, highlighting this year’s focus on diabetes and well-being in the workplace.

With over 589 million people living with diabetes worldwide, and most of them being of working age, the workplace has become an important setting for awareness, prevention, and support.

Everyone is encouraged to pay attention to common symptoms such as excessive thirst, frequent urination, fatigue, blurred vision, slow-healing wounds, and tingling sensations.

Because symptoms of type 2 diabetes can be subtle, regular screening is essential, especially for those with risk factors.

Healthy eating, regular physical activity, maintaining a healthy weight, avoiding tobacco, limiting alcohol, and staying consistent with check-ups remain key preventive steps.

Workplaces can contribute by encouraging movement, reducing stigma, and supporting the emotional well-being of staff living with diabetes.

UBTH remains committed to promoting awareness, strengthening screening, and supporting staff and patients to achieve better well-being across all dimensions.

On this World Diabetes Day 2025, we encourage everyone to know more, do more, and take meaningful steps toward a healthier community.
