The Institute of Child Health, UBTH Benin City joined the rest of the world to celebrate this years’ World Immunization Week with the theme ‘Long life for all’.
Activities carried out Included; health walk with students and pupils of UBTH Group of Schools and some selected schools around the Ugbowo axis of the city and a seminar presentation by Prof. A. E. Sadoh, Professor of Child Health and Consultant Pediatrician on the theme: ‘long life for all: Getting the foundation right; childhood and adolescent vaccination.
The Chief Medical Director represented by the DCMAC Clinicals Services, Dr. Amina Okhaku, in his speech commended the institute for their efforts and achievements so far. He emphasized the need for continued enlightenment on the importance of vaccination in the prevention of infectious diseases and thanked them for the advocacy wishing them success in their endeavours. Also present at the event was the Edo state commissioner for health, Prof. O. Akoria represented.
