Today, we remember and stand with the seniors, those who walk slowly, sometimes with a tremor in their hands, voice, or head.
They move with short, careful steps, shoulders slightly stooped, their voices often soft and barely audible.
Their sense of smell may be fading, but their minds remain sharp, their faculties nearly intact.
This morning, one may have fallen and been helped up, yet still prepared to visit the Neurology Clinic here at UBTH.
He has Parkinson’s Disease.
At UBTH, our Neurology Clinic holds the largest pool of such patients in South-South Nigeria, and with it, the expertise to care for them.
Of course, not everyone who shakes has Parkinson’s, but trust us, we can tell the difference when you bring them.
From all of us at the Friday Neurology Clinic, COPD Unit, UBTH, Our best and kindest wishes to everyone living with Parkinson’s Disease.
